Lillian O'Sullivan
Lillian O’Sullivan practices in all areas of Family and Child Law and Employment Law.
With nearly 20 years’ experience in the field, Lillian O’Sullivan is recognised as a strong Family Law practitioner with an emphasis on providing an exceptional personal service to her clients.
Lillian practices in all areas of Family Law from child-related matters in the District Court to complex High Net Worth Divorces and Judicial Separations in the High Court. She has experience representing clients at all Court levels.
Lillian’s experience as a Commercial Lawyer in a leading Irish firm means that she is ideally-placed to advise on complex Family Law cases involving Family Businesses, Companies, Property Assets and Inter-Generational Assets.
In Child Law, Lillian has extensive experience representing Court-appointed Guardians ad Litem in Child Care Proceedings. She has also been appointed by the Court to represent children and young people in Child Care proceedings.
With experience as a Mediator and Collaborative Law Practitioner, Lillian is always open to exploring all methods of resolving disputes efficiently and cost-effectively. Her skills in Dispute Resolution informs how Lillian approaches a Family Law case from start to finish.
Lillian is a member of the Policy and Law Reform Sub-Committee of the Family Lawyers Association.
During 2024 and 2025, Lillian had the honour of being the Chairperson of the Cork Family Lawyers Association, which represents over 130 solicitors and barristers in Cork City and County.
Lillian completed her BCL and Masters Degree (LLM) at University College Cork. She also completed Postgraduate Diplomas in Arbitration, International Arbitration and Employment Law at University College Dublin.
Lillian trained and practised for a number of years with leading Irish law firm Arthur Cox in Dublin. Following a Fellowship with the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Holland, she returned to Cork to develop a more general legal practice and to specialise in Family Law.
Lillian has a keen interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution and is a trained Arbitrator, Mediator and Collaborative Law Practitioner. She is committed to ensuring that clients understand the options available to them when resolving disputes.
Lillian has been a contributor to the Law Society of Ireland’s Professional Practice Courses in Family Law, Employment Law and Commercial Law. She has also lectured in Law at University College Cork and Griffith College Cork.
